By participating in our Tour de PIF events, you will be raising funds that have been earmarked for the PIF House Program - as well as for the Chatterbox Youth Outreach Bus

PIF House Program

The national PIF House Program builds homes for at-risk and homeless young people and in these homes, carers and counsellors provide support and mentoring to rebuild young lives. Between 2017 - 2022, our target is to build 125 bedrooms.

Funds raised at Tour de PIF Brisbane and Tour de PIF Sydney, will go directly into the PIF House program. 50% of the funds raised from the Melbourne event will go to the PIF House program.

In 2017, we opened PIF House Blacktown and PIF House Dundas with two more Sydney homes in the pipeline. In Brisbane, the PIF House Glass project and PIF House Carina are now in development. Two homes have been opened in Melbourne, PIF House Bonbeach and PIF House Coburg.

Chatterbox Street Outreach Program

Tour de PIF Melbourne will give 50% of the funds raised to the Chatterbox Street Outreach Program. The Chatterbox is an after-hours assertive outreach program that works with young people aged between 12 and 25, who are frequently homeless, at risk of homelessness and/or engaging in risk taking behaviour. The Chatterbox provides a variety of services, from intensive and ongoing support by way of case management, or through other brief interventions the program is able to assess the needs of young people, and link them to the services they require as well as providing basic material aid in food, clothing and health supplies.

Rebuilding Young Lives - Kristy's Story

Kristy's story is an example of how funds raised through events like the Tour de PIF have helped young Australians at-risk to get back on their feet.

Kristy grew up in a violent home and, by the time she was 16, had moved out of home numerous times trying to find safety. In the space of two years, she moved between 12 different houses, never knowing how long she would be able to stay in one place.

She came to Marist180, one of PIF's charity partners, hoping for support and stability to turn her life around. The charity helped Kristy get her education back on track and supported her through her HSC.When Kristy graduated from high school, Marist180 helped her start her Certificate III in Community Services. She now has a full-time job and is looking forward to continuing her study.

Funds raised from the Tour de PIF will assist young people just like Kristy.
